Edirisa UK supports a range of projects pivotal to raising people out of poverty in southwestern Uganda. In the local Rukiga language, the term “Edirisa” means “a window”. The charity interprets this as a window for the world to see Africa and for Africa to see the world.
Edirisa supports water harvesting initiatives. Women and children often make long and treacherous journeys in pursuit of water, leading to missing out on schooling and other opportunities. In partnership with Kigezi Diocese Water and Sanitation Programme since 2010, Edirisa UK identifies the households that are most in need and liaise with the communities to construct the tank and provide the materials. Working with the local community, Edirisa UK provides maintenance training to ensure the upkeep of the tanks.
WRBLO is proud to support Edirisa UK with its initiatives. By giving to this charity, you are raising a window in a community that can and will thrive.
