WRBLO Fundraising K1
Kisiizi Hospital was founded in 1958 by Christian Missionary John Sharp. The hospital continues to care for the most vulnerable in society and admits around 550 and 700 patients each month. In 1996, the hospital launched the Kisiizi Community Health Insurance Scheme, the first bespoke health insurance scheme in Uganda.
Kisiizi Hospital is vital to the health of South-Western Ugandans healthcare. They cover a wide range of services such as primary, maternity, and critical care, as well as ongoing outpatient and mental health services.
From conditions that affect the new-borns and on into later child development such as “Stunting” which is described by the World Health Organisation as ‘the impaired growth and development that children experience from poor nutrition, repeated infection, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation, which adversely impacts their long-term health.
We are asking YOU to assist us to support the amazing work that Kisiizi Hospital are doing by donating to support critical services such as their laboratory, which needs to be better equipped, as it lacks the blood cultures needed to explain what infection patients are suffering from, whilst checking for antibiotic sensitivity.
With Your Donations, we can also provide the funding Kisiizi needs for blood culture equipment; full blood count analyser; and a microscope.
